Nutrition and emotion symptom clusters occurred consistently from T0 to T3, fatigue-related clusters appeared after chemotherapy at T1 and T2, and body-image symptom clusters emerged at late T2 and T3.
The structures of symptom clusters in this study were dynamic and various. The nutrition and emotional-related symptoms constituted a cluster during chemotherapy. Oncology nurses should provide physical and psychosocial interventions to relieve these symptoms in patients with gynecological cancer undergoing chemotherapy.

Reliable prognostic indicators for accurately predicting postoperative outcomes in Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients are lacking. Although cancer stem-like cells (CSCs) and tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in tumor microenvironment are implicated in the occurrence and development of HCC, whether the combination of CSC biomarkers and TAM populations could achieve better performance in predicting the prognosis of patients with HCC has been rarely reported.
A total of 306 HCC patients were randomly divided into the training and validation cohorts at a 11 ratio, and the expression of OV6 and CD68 was assessed using immunohistochemistry in HCC samples. The prognostic value of these biomarkers for post-surgical survival and recurrence were evaluated by the curve of receiver operating characteristic and multivariate Cox regression analyses.
The density of OV6
CSCs was positively correlated with the infiltration of CD68
TAMs in HCC. Both high OV6 expression and CD68
TAM infiltration was closely associated with poor overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) of HCC patients. Moreover, overexpression of OV6 and infiltration of CD68
TAMs were identified as independent prognostic factors for OS and PFS after liver resection. The integration of OV6 and CD68 with tumor size and microvascular invasion exhibited highest C-index value for survival predictivity in HCC patients than any other biomarkers or clinical indicators alone.
Incorporating intratumoral OV6 expression and CD68
TAMs infiltration with established clinical indicators may serve as a promising prognostic signature for HCC, and could more accurately predict the clinical outcomes for HCC patients after liver resection.

Using a large panel of orthopaedic surgeons in England, I estimate the effect of surgeons' breaks, measured by the number of days since their last surgery, on the health outcomes of emergency patients admitted after a hip fracture. To identify a causal effect, I implement a surgeon fixed effects model and exploit the quasi-exogenous variation in breaks from unanticipated emergency hip fracture admissions. Results show that short breaks of four to six days reduce 30-day mortality rates by around six percent relative to no breaks. Notably, short breaks also affect the type of surgery carried out, holding patient characteristics fixed. Overall, these findings show that the organisation of surgeons' activity is a possible determinant of the quality of care provided. This paper studies the impact of the first joint licensing platform for patented drugs, the Medicines Patent Pool, on global drug diffusion and innovation. The pool allows generic firms worldwide to license drug bundles cheaply and conveniently for sales in a set of developing countries. I construct a novel dataset from licensing contracts, public procurement, clinical trials, and drug approvals. Using difference-in-differences methods, I find that the pool leads to substantial increases in the generic supply of drugs purchased, particularly in countries with stronger patent protection. In addition, there are some positive increases in clinical trials and drug product approvals after a compound enters the pool, mostly by firms outside the pool.
Chronically elevated free fatty acid levels can adversely affect pancreatic β-cells, leading to insulin resistance and eventually type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Polydatin (PD) from Polygonum cuspidatum has been shown to regulate blood lipid content and lower cholesterol levels. However, there have been no reports on the potential therapeutic effects and actions of PD on lipotoxicity in β-cells.
This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of PD on palmitate (PA)-treated INS-1 insulinoma cells and diabetic mice.
Cells were incubated with PA and varying concentrations of PD for 24h. Gefitinib-based PROTAC 3 solubility dmso Viability assays, morphological observations, flow cytometric analysis, western blotting, and reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction were used to assess the effects of PD on PA-induced lipotoxicity. Western blotting was used to measure the endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) and the levels of autophagy-related factors after incubation with inducers and inhibitors of ERS and autophagy. Diabetic city and T2DM.
These results suggest that PD protects β-cells from lipotoxicity-induced dysfunction and apoptosis by inhibiting ERS and preventing excessive autophagy. Our study provides a new basis for exploring the potential of PD against β-cell lipotoxicity and T2DM.
d-Borneol has been widely used as a drug absorption enhancer, but there are few studies on the anti-resistance ability of d-borneol combined with cisplatin in cisplatin-resistant non-small cell lung cancer cells. Ferroptosis, autophagy and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) have been reported to be associated with drug resistance.
To investigate the molecular mechanisms and sensitizing effects of d-borneol combined with cisplatin to against drug cisplatin resistance from the perspective of ferroptosis, autophagy and EMT resistance.
H460/CDDP xenograft tumor model was established to verify the antitumor activity and safety in vivo. RNA sequencing was used to predict target molecules and signaling pathways. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) were used as marker of ferroptosis, and its level was determined by a dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate fluorescent probe and flow cytometry. Levels of glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), and antioxidants such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and thioredoxin (Troted autophagy by upregulating expression of LC3II/ATG5/Beclin-1 and inhibited the EMT by increasing the expression of epithelial marker E-cadherin and decreasing mesenchymal markers (N-cadherin and vimentin) and transcription factors (Snail and ZEB1).
For the first time, our study implies that d-borneol enhanced cisplatin sensitivity by inducing ferroptosis, promoting autophagy and inhibiting EMT progression, thereby enhancing antitumor activity. It suggests that d-borneol could be developed as a novel chemosensitizers.

Warm needle acupuncture (WA) is considered a potential intervention in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA).
To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of WA in the treatment of OA.
Systematic review and meta-analysis METHODS Fourteen databases were searched from their inception until May 2022. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of WA for treating OA were identified. Study selection and data extraction were performed by two independent reviewers. The Cochrane risk of bias tool and the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation program were used to assess all included RCTs.
A total of 66 RCTs met the inclusion criteria for this review. Most of the included studies had an unclear risk of bias, and the certainty of the evidence was very low. Twenty-four RCTs compared the effects of WA with those of oral drug therapies. Meta-analysis showed superior effects of WA for the total effective rate (risk ratio (RR) 1.22, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.17 to 1.27, I
=26%, p < 0.001, 24 studies, n=2278), pain, and function. Eight RCTs compared the effects of WA+drug therapy, and meta-analysis showed favorable effects for the total effective rate (RR 1.27, 95% CI 1.18 to 1.35, I
=0%, p < 0.001, 8 studies, n=646). Eight RCTs compared the effects of WA and intra-articular sodium hyaluronate (IASH) injection on OA and found equivalent effects of WA on the symptoms of OA. Twenty-eight RCTs compared the effects of WA+IASH injection with those of IASH injection, and meta-analysis showed superior effects of WA+IASH in terms of the total effective rate (RR 1.15, 95% CI 1.11 to 1.19, I
=27.3%, p < 0.001, 25 studies, n=2208), pain, and function. None of the RCTs reported serious adverse events.
WA may have some distinct advantages in the treatment of OA. However, well-designed RCTs with larger sample sizes are needed.

We evaluated whether including spatially-varying relationships could improve European LUR models by using geographically weighted regression (GWR) and random forest (RF). We built separate LUR models for each year from 2000 to 2019 for NO2, O3, PM2.5 and PM10 using annual average monitoring observations across Europe. Potential predictors included satellite retrievals, chemical transport model estimates and land-use variables. Supervised linear regression (SLR) was used to select predictors, and then GWR estimated the potentially spatially-varying coefficients. We developed multi-year models using geographically and temporally weighted regression (GTWR). Five-fold cross-validation per year showed that GWR and GTWR explained similar spatial variations in annual average concentrations (average R2 = NO2 0.66; O3 0.58; PM10 0.62; PM2.5 0.77), which are better than SLR (average R2 = NO2 0.61; O3 0.46; PM10 0.51; PM2.5 0.75) and RF (average R2 = NO2 0.64; O3 0.53; PM10 0.56; PM2.5 0.67). The GTWR predictions and a previously-used method of back-extrapolating 2010 model predictions using CTM were overall highly correlated (R2 > 0.8) for all pollutants. Including spatially-varying relationships using GWR modestly improved European air pollution annual LUR models, allowing time-varying exposure-health risk models.Microbial communities are responsible for biological treatment of many industrial wastewater, but our knowledge of their diversity, assembly patterns, and function is still poor. Here, we analyzed the bacterial communities of wastewater and activated sludge samples taken from 11 full-scale industrial wastewater treatment plants (IWWTPs) characterized by the same process design but different wastewater types and WWTP compartments. We found significantly different diversity and compositions of bacterial assemblages among distinct wastewater types and IWWTPs compartments. IWWTPs bacterial communities exhibited a clear species abundance distribution. The dispersal-driven process was weak in shaping IWWTP communities. Meanwhile, environmental and operating conditions were important factors in regulating the structure of the activated sludge community and pollutants removal, indicating that bacterial community was largely driven by deterministic mechanisms. The core microbial community in IWWTPs was different from that in municipal wastewater treatment plants (MWWTPs), and many taxa (e.
