nnaire. Outcome was measured based on differences in the average adherence between the intervention and control group at each time point (baseline, 3 months, 6 months).Most respondents were willing to receive text message adherence reminders (81.1%, n = 53). Respondent literacy, travel time to clinic, cell phone access, and patterns of use were significantly associated with willingness. In the randomized trial the intervention group (n = 50) experienced a small but significant mean improvement in adherence over the six-month period (4%, P  less then  .01) whereas the control group (n = 50) did not (mean improvement 0.8%, P = .64).Text message interventions effectively support antiretroviral adherence in pediatric patients living with human immunodeficiency virus. Studies designed to assess the impact of text messaging interventions must examine local context for cellular phone infrastructure and use and must account for potential loss to follow up when patients miss appointments and study assessments.
Rituximab is an induction immunosuppressant essential for ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation (ABOi KT). However, studies on its dosing, which differs among countries and transplant centers, are lacking. Therefore, we retrospectively investigated the effectiveness of the induction dose of rituximab against patient mortality, graft failure, and adverse events.
We included the studies referring to at least 2 of eligible induction doses (200 mg, 200-500 mg, or 500 mg) of rituximab during ABOi KT and relevant outcomes such as patient survival, graft failure, and bacterial and viral infections. We performed direct and indirect network meta-analyses using Bayesian models and ranked different rituximab doses using generation mixed treatment comparison. Publications were retrieved using CENTRAL, MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Science Citation Index Expanded databases from 1970 to February 2020 and analyzed. PTC-028 order The GRADE of network meta-analysis approach specified 4 levels of certainty for a given result high, moderate, lol randomized controlled trials might be needed to confirm these findings due to small sample size.
Chromodomain helicase DNA-binding protein 1-like (CHD1L) is an oncogene. It was cloned from 1q21 chromosome region of hepatocellular carcinoma in 1991. CHD1L is up-regulated in many kinds of cancers and is involved in the carcinogenesis and development of tumors. More and more studies have shown that over-expression of CHD1L is associated with poor prognosis of tumors. link2 The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of CHD1L in human solid tumors.
The key words in the database of PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane library, and TCGA were searched for systematic literature retrieval. We collected relevant articles and data about CHD1L and prognosis of cancer and screened them according to the eligible criteria to evaluate the prognostic value of CHD1L in cancer patients. Then Stata SE12.0 software is used to analyze the data.
In our meta-analysis, 2720 patients with a total of 15 articles involving multiple types of tumors showed that high expression levels of CHD1L were associated wiasis, which can be served as a prognostic marker and a potential predictor of clinical pathology in human solid tumors.
Factors associated with the prognosis of low-grade glioma remain undefined. In this study, we examined whether the maximal tumor diameter in the preoperative tumor magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) T2 image is associated with the prognosis of grade II gliomas patients, aiming to provide insights into the clinical prediction of patient outcome. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of patients with Grade II glioma, who were hospitalized in Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, from 2011 to 2016. Kaplan-Meier and Cox proportional hazards analyses were performed to determine the association between maximal tumor diameter and prognosis.A total of 90 patients with grade II glioma were included in this study. Mean patient age was 37.7 ± 13.0 years, and 58.9% of them were male. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis of overall survival (overall survival [OS], P = .009) and event-free survival (EFS, P = .002) revealed statistically significant differences between the patients with lesion diameter <7 cm and ton between maximal tumor diameter and prognosis.A total of 90 patients with grade II glioma were included in this study. The maximal tumor diameter in the preoperative tumor MRI T2 image was identified as a prognostic factor of OS (P = .013), while constituting an independent risk factor for EFS (P = .002) alongside elevated histological grade after recurrence (P = .006).The maximal tumor diameter in the preoperative tumor MRI T2 image independently predicts OS and EFS in patients with grade II glioma.
This study aimed to evaluate the low health literacy prevalence and its socio-demographic related factors in Xingtai. This study was a community-based, cross-sectional survey performed in Xingtai, with a sample size of 960. Participants' socio-demographic characteristics were collected, and their health literacy status was evaluated by the questionnaire designed by the 2012 Chinese Resident Health Literacy Survey. There were 904 (94.2%) participants who provided valid questionnaires and they were included in the analyses. The mean health literacy score was 63.0 ± 16.6; for its subscales, the mean scores of health literacy of basic knowledge and concepts, lifestyle, and health-related skills were 31.6 ± 8.7, 17.1 ± 4.7, and 14.3 ± 3.9, respectively. Low total health literacy prevalence was 83.1%; as for its subscales, the prevalence of low health literacy of basic knowledge and concepts, lifestyle, and health-related skills was 72.5%, 87.8%, and 87.4%, respectively. Meanwhile, age, male and rural location wereation level is the most critical related factor for low health literacy in Xingtai.
To assess the association of conventional semen parameters and sperm DNA fragmentation with risk of recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA).
Systematic review and meta-analysis.
Not applicable.
Total 1,690 male partners of women with RSA, and 1,337 male partners of fertile control women.
Case-control or cohort studies were determined by searching PubMed, Google Scholar, Cochrane Libraries, China Biology Medicine disc, Chinese Scientific Journals Fulltext Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang Database. RSA was defined as two or more previous pregnancy losses. The fertile women refer to the reproductive women who have had at least a normal pregnancy history and no history of abortion.
This study included eight outcome measures semen volume(ml), semen pH value, sperm density(106/ml), sperm viability (%), sperm progressive motility rate (%), normal sperm morphology rate (%), sperm deformity rate(%), sperm DNA fragmentation index (DFI) (%). The summary measures were reported as str, given the significant heterogeneity between studies and the lack of more detailed data on the subjects, further large-scale prospective studies are needed.
The results of this analysis support an association of sperm density, sperm viability, sperm progressive motility rate, normal sperm morphology rate, sperm deformity rate, as well as sperm DFI with RSA. However, given the significant heterogeneity between studies and the lack of more detailed data on the subjects, further large-scale prospective studies are needed.
There is currently no optimal treatment modality for refractory or relapsed Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKTL). In recent years, programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1)/programmed cell - ligand 1 pathway blockade and histone deacetylase inhibitors have emerged as promising strategies for refractory or relapsed ENKTL. Accumulating evidence has shown that therapeutic effects of anti-PD-1 antibody could be enhanced by histone deacetylase inhibitors.
A 52-year-old male patient was diagnosed with stage I ENKTL by biopsy on February 2010.
positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) and biopsy were used to diagnose relapsed ENKTL in 2014.
The patient was treated with radiotherapy and six cycles of etoposide, prednisone, vincristine (Oncovin), cyclophosphamide and doxorubicin hydrochloride and achieved complete remission (CR) by PET-CT in August 2010. In November 2014, the patient was diagnosed with relapsed stage IV ENKTL and was treated with six cycles of alternative chemotherapyto radiotherapy of the distal end of right femoral and systemic treatment of PD-1 antibody Sintilimab and chidamide 30 mg. After 5 months post-treatment, biopsy of nasopharynx showed no lymphoma cells. The patient continued the treatment of Sintilimab and chidamide 20 mg.
PET-CT imaging showed his lesions obtained remission after 8 months post-treatment.
Thus, combination of sintilimab and chidamide can be used to treat relapsed ENKTL following treatment failure from chemo-, radio-, and immuno-therapy. A clinical trial has been launched.

The diagnostic and treatment values and safety of preoperative double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) for Meckel's diverticula (MD) bleeding in children by retrospective review and analyses. The clinical data were collected and analyzed from 10 cases of children with MD receiving preoperative DBE examination and postoperative pathological confirmation. The diagnostic and treatment values and safety were assessed through the comparison of the DBE results and intra-operative observations and subsequently postoperative pathological results.Total cases are 10, 7 males and 3 females. The male to female ratio is 2.3 to 1. The youngest patient is 3.3 years old and oldest 12.1, the average age is 7.4 ± 3.0. The lowest body weight is 12.6 kg and the average is 32.5 ± 18.9 kg. The hematochezia was the main clinical manifestation in all patients with anemia and moderate to severe anemia were common (9/10, 90%). All patients had and tolerated the DBE procedures via anal route with 100% success rate. There were no observable cnd post operations. link3 All patients were diagnosed with MD by DBE. Exploratory laparoscopy and surgical operations were subsequently performed. All surgical samples were confirmed by pathology as bleeding MD. The postoperative follow-ups up to April 2019 (from 3 to 12 months) do not show any bleeding sign. Pathological examinations found ectopic gastric mucosa in 9 patients (90%) and one case had both ectopic gastric mucosa pancreatic tissue (10%). The distance of MD to ileocecal valve was from 60 to 100 cm (average 81.0 ± 16.0 cm) by DBE examinations. Surgery showed similar findings from 30 to 100 cm (average 71.0 ± 18.5) consistently to DBE. There is no statistical significance between 2 methods (Ζ = 1.715, Ρ = .086).DBE examination proves to be a safe method for diagnosing children's MD disease and can reliably determine the bleeding lesions in children's MD, providing valuable guidance for surgical treatment of children's MD bleeding.
