We recommend that PRP should be used in spinal diseases and other fields and in the future we ought to find a safe, simple, and standardized PRP preparation protocol.
Depression after stroke is usually a chronic process, which was associated with many health problems. Selleckchem BAY-218 This study was aimed to investigate the underline mechanism of the effect of Neural Fuyuan Formula (NFF) in post-stroke depression and the role of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in the signal pathway regulated by NFF.
A rat post-stroke depression model was established. Synaptic plasticity of rat was detected by Electron microscopy. The expression of BDNF signaling proteins and synapse related proteins were measured by Western blot. The expression of Synapsin-1 (SYN1) in rat and the culture neurons was detected by Western blot and immunofluorescence. Dendritic complexity was also measured.
NFF could attenuate the synapse change in the post-stroke depression (PSD) model rat. NFF increased the expression of BDNF signaling proteins and synapse related proteins of the PSD model rat (P&0.05). NFF increased the expression of SYN1 in rat and the culture neurons (P&0.05). NFF could also increase the dendritic complexity in culture neurons (P&0.05).
NFF promoted recovery of neurological function through BDNF signaling pathways, which further affirm the curative effect of NFF for treatment of post-stroke depression.

Despite the association of masticatory function with head posture and mandible movement, the impact of head posture on masseter muscle electrical activity remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the electrical activity of the anterior temporal, masseter, superior trapezius, and sternocleidomastoid muscles in temporomandibular disorder (TMD) patients in three different head positions and compare the findings with those for healthy subjects.
The study included 16 TMD patients and 17 healthy subjects. Surface electromyography (sEMG) was used to assess the bilateral anterior temporalis, masseter, superior trapezius, and sternocleidomastoid muscle activities. The maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) and root mean square (RMS) sequence of each muscle were measured in three head positions. Mixed analysis of variance was used to evaluate the effects of head posture on muscle electrical activity in each group.
The group differences for the bilateral masseter muscles were significant in the relaxation position, neutral head position (NHP), and relaxation position with tooth contact (P<0.05). In both groups, the basal RMSs of the bilateral anterior temporalis muscle in the relaxation position with tooth contact was significantly higher than that in the NHP (P<0.05). In both groups, the basal RMSs of the bilateral masseter muscles in the relaxation position with tooth contact was higher than that in the relaxation position and NHP, with significant differences (P<0.05).
During the management of TMD patients, physical therapists should focus on patient education regarding maintenance of a relaxed position and establish appropriate rehabilitation programs to reduce muscle activity.

This study aims to systematically assess the effectiveness and safety of Huazhi Rougan granule in the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver.
The PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), WanFang databases, VIP databases, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (SinoMed) were searched to identify the relevant randomized controlled trials, from the establishment of the database to June 7, 2020. The Cochrane risk of bias tool for assessing risk of bias was employed to evaluate the quality of the literatures included. Meta-analyses were performed using RevMan 5.3 software.
A total of 23 related literature were retrieved, 9 studies with 1,142 participants were included in the meta-analysis. The overall quality of evidence for this study is low. Meta-analysis results suggest that, Huazhi Rougan granule combined with conventional treatment was significantly superior to the silybin control group in the improvement of liver B-ultrasound, reduction of serological indexes, ionclusions. More high-quality clinical RCT trials need to be carried out, and internationally recognized outcome indicators should be selected and uniformly included in the scoring criteria.
A frameless stereotactic robot-assisted system allows stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) electrodes to span multiple lobes. As the angularity and length are increased, maintaining accuracy of the electrodes becomes more challenging. The goal of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the accuracy of multilobe-spanning SEEG electrodes inserted using a frameless stereotactic robot-assisted system.
A total of 322 SEEG electrodes were implanted in 39 patients with refractory epilepsy, and sixty-one multilobe-spanning SEEG electrodes were selected to analyze the factors that influenced the accuracy of implantation. The target error, entrance error, depth error, and angular error were calculated by a specialized computer program. Factors including electrode depth, angular deviation, referencing method, head holder choice, and use of a predrill procedure were analyzed to determine their effects on accuracy.
Thirty-nine patients (aged 2-35 years, median 19 years; 21 females) underwent frameless roluencing factors of the accuracy of multilobe-spanning SEEG electrode placement. The Leksell frame and a predrill procedure can be used to increase the accuracy of SEEG electrode placement.
