In this work, we investigate the surface transfer doping process that is induced between hydrogen-terminated (100) diamond and the metal oxides, MoO3 and V2O5, through simulation using a semi-empirical Density Functional Theory (DFT) method. DFT was used to calculate the band structure and charge transfer process between these oxide materials and hydrogen terminated diamond. Analysis of the band structures, density of states, Mulliken charges, adsorption energies and position of the Valence Band Minima (VBM) and Conduction Band Minima (CBM) energy levels shows that both oxides act as electron acceptors and inject holes into the diamond structure. Hence, those metal oxides can be described as p-type doping materials for the diamond. Additionally, our work suggests that by depositing appropriate metal oxides in an oxygen rich atmosphere or using metal oxides with high stochiometric ration between oxygen and metal atoms could lead to an increase of the charge transfer between the diamond and oxide, leading to enhanced surface transfer doping.Hydrogen-bonded heterocomplexes formed by POOH-containing acids (diphenylphosphoric 1, dimethylphosphoric 2, diphenylphosphinic 3, and dimethylphosphinic 4) are studied by the low-temperature (100 K) 1H-NMR and 31P-NMR using liquefied gases CDF3/CDF2Cl as a solvent. Formation of cyclic dimers and cyclic trimers consisting of molecules of two different acids is confirmed by the analysis of vicinal H/D isotope effects (changes in the bridging proton chemical shift, δH, after the deuteration of a neighboring H-bond). Acids 1 and 4 (or 1 and 3) form heterotrimers with very strong (short) H-bonds (δH ca. 17 ppm). While in the case of all heterotrimers the H-bonds are cyclically arranged head-to-tail, ···O=P-O-H···O=P-O-H···, and thus their cooperative coupling is expected, the signs of vicinal H/D isotope effects indicate an effective anticooperativity, presumably due to steric factors when one of the H-bonds is elongated upon deuteration, the structure of the heterotrimer adjusts by shortening the neighboring hydrogen bonds. We also demonstrate the formation of cyclic tetramers in the case of acids 1 and 4 the structure has alternating molecules of 1 and 4 in the cycle, while in case of acids 1 and 3 the cycle has two molecules of 1 followed by two molecules of 3.Metallic glassy alloys with their short-range order have received considerable attention since their discovery in 1960's. The worldwide interest in metallic glassy alloys is attributed to their unique mechanical, physical, and chemical properties, which cannot be found together in long-range order alloys of the same compositions. Traditional preparation methods of metallic glasses, such as rapid solidification of melts, always restrict the formation of glassy alloys with large atomic fraction (above 3-5 at%) of high melting point metals (Ta, Mo, W). In this study, (Zr67Cu33)100-xWx(x; 5-30 at%) metallic glassy alloys were fabricated through a mechanical alloying approach, which starts from the elemental powders. This system shows excellent glass forming ability in a wide range of W (0 ≤ x ≥ 30 at%). We have proposed a spark plasma sintering technique to prepare nearly full-dense large sized (20 × 20 mm) bulk metallic glassy alloys. The as-consolidated bulk metallic glassy alloys were seen to possess high thermal stability when compared with the other metallic glassy systems. This is implied by their high glass transition temperature (722-735 K), wide range of supercooled liquid region (39 K to over 100 K), and high values of crystallization temperature (761 K to 823 K). In addition, the fabricated ternary systems have revealed high microhardness values. This paper proposes a compact, semi-circular shaped multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna design with high isolation and enhanced bandwidth for ultrawide band (UWB) applications. A decoupling stub is used for high isolation reaching up to -55 dB over the entire bandwidth. The proposed antenna is used for UWB as well as super wide band (SWB) applications. The overall size of the proposed antenna is 18 × 36 × 1.6   mm3. The | S 11 |   and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of the proposed antenna are less than -10 dB and 2, respectively, in the range of 3-40 GHz. The total impedance bandwidth of the proposed design is 37 GHz. The VSWR, | S 11 | , | S 22 | , | S 21 | , | S 12 | , gain, envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), radiation pattern, and various other characteristic parameters are discussed in detail. The proposed antenna is optimized and simulated in a computer simulation technology (CST) studio, and printed on a FR4 substrate.Vector-borne flaviviruses (VBFs) affect human health worldwide, but no approved drugs are available specifically to treat VBF-associated infections. Here, we performed in silico screening of a library of U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved antiviral drugs for their interaction with Zika virus proteins. Twelve hit drugs were identified by the docking experiments and tested in cell-based antiviral assay systems. Efavirenz, tipranavir, and dasabuvir at micromolar concentrations were identified to inhibit all VBFs tested; i.e., two representatives of mosquito-borne flaviviruses (Zika and West Nile viruses) and one representative of flaviviruses transmitted by ticks (tick-borne encephalitis virus). The results warrant further research into these drugs, either individually or in combination, as possible pan-flavivirus inhibitors. The diffusion of the legalization of cannabis for recreational, medicinal and nutraceutical uses requires the development of adequate analytical methods to assure the safety and security of such products. In particular, aflatoxins are considered to pose a major risk for the health of cannabis consumers. Among analytical methods that allows for adequate monitoring of food safety, immunoassays play a major role thanks to their cost-effectiveness, high-throughput capacity, simplicity and limited requirement for equipment and skilled operators. Therefore, a rapid and sensitive enzyme immunoassay has been adapted to measure the most hazardous aflatoxin B1 in cannabis products. Stattic order The assay was acceptably accurate (recovery rate 78-136%), reproducible (intra- and inter-assay means coefficients of variation 11.8% and 13.8%, respectively), and sensitive (limit of detection and range of quantification 0.35 ng mL-1 and 0.4-2 ng mL-1, respectively corresponding to 7 ng g-1 and 8-40 ng g-1 ng g-1 in the plant) and provided results which agreed with a HPLC-MS/MS method for the direct analysis of aflatoxin B1 in cannabis inflorescence and leaves.
