During the outpatient follow-up of one month, three months, and six months postoperation, the four patients were still without dysmenorrhea and were highly satisfied with the HIFU ablation.
HIFU, as a non-invasive treatment, supplies a safe and effective possibility for the treatment of cystic adenomyosis.

Patients with ischemic stroke who have H-type hypertension are at an increased risk of recurrent stroke. The relationship between risk perception and lifestyle in these patients has not been fully explored. The objective of this study is to investigate risk perceptions and lifestyles among H-type hypertensive ischemic stroke patients and explore their relationships.
A total of 314 hypertensive ischemic stroke patients were divided according to homocysteine (Hcy) level into the normal Hcy and high Hcy group using convenience sampling. The high Hcy group was further divided into the perceived or non-perceived group based on the patients' risk perceptions. The Essen Stroke Risk Score and the Health Behavior Scale were used to investigate the patients' risk perceptions and lifestyles.
The perceived risk factors in the high Hcy group included hypertension, diabetes, alcohol consumption, hyperlipidemia, and smoking, which showed no significant difference with those in the normal Hcy group. The high Hcy group had a total lifestyle score of (2.54±0.42). Cyclopamine manufacturer The perceived group had a better lifestyle than the non-perceived group; however, only blood pressure monitoring compliance showed a significant difference between the groups (P<0.05). The lifestyles of subjects whose perceived risks included diabetes, hyperlipidemia, smoking, and alcohol consumption were not significantly different to those in the non-perceived group.
Patients with H-type hypertensive ischemic stroke who perceive hypertension as a risk factor have relatively good lifestyles. Therefore, efforts should be made to strengthen risk education for these patients to help improve their risk perception and lifestyles.

Curative medical treatment for patients with discogenic sciatica is limited. Acupuncture is an important non-pharmacological therapy reported to have positive therapeutic effects on discogenic sciatica. According to traditional Chinese acupuncture theory, discogenic sciatica is a channel tendon disease which can be treated by a special "Fan-zhen Jie-ci (FZJC)" method. Our recent preliminary clinical evidence indicated that the FZJC method had a positive treatment effect on the disease. This study will further evaluate the efficacy and safety of FZJC on patients with discogenic sciatica.
A single-blind randomized controlled clinical trial will be conducted, assigning 76 participants with discogenic sciatica to a randomly assigned FZJC group or a control group. Acupuncture treatment combined with the FZJC method will be applied in the FZJC group while routine acupuncture treatment only will be applied in the control group. Treatments will be administered three times a week for a total of 3 consecutive weeks. The primary outcome of this trial is change in the visual analogue scale of leg pain (VAS-LP), and the secondary outcomes are changes in the visual analogue scale of back pain (VAS-BP), the Brief Pain Inventory (BPI), the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), the 36-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36), and serum concentrations of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and high sensitivity C reactive protein (hsCRP).
The results of this study will provide insight into the efficacy and safety of FZJC acupuncture as a treatment for discogenic sciatica.

Early detection of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) shows its significant efficacy in preventing the patients from liver failure. The ultrasonic image quantitative analysis software can assist to diagnose NAFLD in the clinical studies. In this study, we aim to explore new method to evaluate the value of computer-assisted ultrasound in diagnosis and classification of fatty liver via Image J software.
Forty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into control group (n=10) and model group (n=30). For model group, the rats received high fat diet and subcutaneous injection of carbon tetrachloride to establish nonalcoholic fatty liver model. Ultrasound and pathological examinations on rats were performed on 4, 8, and 12 weeks. Image J software was used to measure the liver grayscale value (LGV) and renal grayscale value (RGV). The difference between LGV and RGV (LRGV) was analyzed. The diagnostic performance of computer-assisted ultrasound quantification was evaluated by receiver operating characterisr preclinical pharmacological research and basic research.
Sonication fluid culture is routinely conducted in patients with suspected orthopedic devicerelated infection (ORI). However, its value in the assessment of orthopedic devices that have explanted because of presumed aseptic loosening is still debatable. A meta-analysis was conducted to estimate the yield of sonication fluid culture in detecting the presence of microorganisms in orthopedic devices with presumed aseptic loosening, and to summarize the clinical characteristics and outcomes of these patients.
A meta-analysis was performed of peer-reviewed publications detailing the characteristics of patients whose orthopedic devices were explanted for presumed aseptic loosening and who underwent subsequent sonication fluid culture. Diagnostic data were extracted and pooled to estimate the yield of sonication fluid culture for detecting the presence of microorganisms with 95% confidence intervals (CI).
Eight studies involving 421 patients were included in the meta-analysis analysis. The pooled results showed that sonication fluid culture had a yield of approximately 30% (95% CI 20-41%) for identifying the presence of microorganisms in presumed aseptic loosening of orthopedic devices; this yield was higher than that of intraoperative tissue culture (22%, 95% CI 8-41%) and aspirated fluid culture (13%, 95% CI 7-21%).
