World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear rating of an item up to 700 points and give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like a perfectly broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while others like weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. They also have a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. In addition some weapons come with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also reroll the stats of their base. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. For items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them could render them unusable unless you have an extremely lucky roll.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their stats. This can increase the defense of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. item upgrading will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it could roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with circling arrows in the menu for items. This will reroll the item and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This makes it easier to navigate difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the more health you can receive from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game, and to unlock them all, you must complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and have completed the corresponding fountain and then you can speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor is different. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a few friends.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll have to concentrate on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss fight as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
You can also gain advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets to let you escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by the participant, produce a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to increase their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount of XP. This can be obtained by making them on a crafting table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion used and the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you choose the potion that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade until you make use of it again or break the bottle in the container it is kept. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. Splash potions for instance, now have a duration 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the item hover display. The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. The same applies to the use of a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will deplete the potion, and refill the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone. The table of potions is arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It may also refer to an object or decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly important such as a tiny thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is a way to express affection or friendship between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets like other items which can be upgraded can be swapped at will without losing stats.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered using tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.
Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new ones. It is possible to upgrade the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the old trinket but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Trinkets can be upgraded when they are no longer needed and allows players to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are an extremely popular alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment they will not replace in the near future (such as a ring or an cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they are no longer useful and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing a new one.
