WoW Item Upgrades
Item upgrades--more commonly known as "upping"--are an enchantment and item that can be put on weapons and armor pieces, increasing their power. These upgrade items increase the gauge of an item by a specified number of points. The cost of these upgrades increases with their rarity.
A perfectly rolled version of this armor is highly prized in the melee PvP community due to its ability to reduce weapon damage.
Type-restricted upgrades
Upgrades are an essential component of the equipment crafting process. They can boost an item's stats and make it stronger or weaker, and even add an additional benefit. They also affect the appearance of the item. Certain upgrades are universal, while others have specific rules for weapons and armor. Making the wrong upgrade can ruin an otherwise excellent weapon, and could even cause it to become unusable.
A general rule is that you can only upgrade a piece of equipment to the level of the highest-level gear in its category. You can only upgrade helms up to the highest level. Weapons, on the other hand can be upgraded to the level of a sword. This doesn't increase the weapon's power of damage and can reduce the value of trade.
To upgrade an item, you must spend flightstones and crests. The amount you pay for each depends on the item's level and slot. Upgrades to swords, for instance, will cost more flightstones than an upgrade of the cloth. Also, you can get discounts on the number flightstones or crests needed to upgrade an item.
When you upgrade an item, it fills its diamond-shaped indicator. Each step raises the item's Tier level by one-third. The highest Tier level is Tier 3. Depending on the type of item it could require a different number of upgrades to reach this point. It is important to remember that any procedure that may be used to mount a disk must not be performed while upgrading. In addition, you must ensure that the disk being upgraded is not being used as a system disk.
Enchantment lets you change white or Common items to rare or blue items. Eleanor's Enchantment Shop, located in the Capital District is where you can do this. This method does not add a gem or rune slot to the equipment. However it alters the dimensions of the equipment. It makes the equipment larger by the size two categories smaller. For instance the size of a Stormtrooper armor is Medium, and a Blaster Pistol Small.
Universal upgrades
Universal upgrades are upgrades that can be used on any type of equipment. This includes weapons, armor and trinkets. Upgrade components are available through Side Quests or random drops. Universal upgrades can be temporary or permanent, and they can be combined with Power Ups. They can be linear or branching.
Universal Upgrades begin when "internal technology" can give sentient beings new capabilities they are unlikely to develop in natural ways. Examples of internal technology include prostheses or implants. This type of upgrade differs from medical internal technology which seeks to restore natural capabilities. It is the start of a process that will transform civilizations fundamentally. The universal upgrade is a tense procedure that can take a long time to complete. However, the process can be divided into two different classes: full success and partial failure.
This is similar to ways that resort upgrades are implemented at Disney or Universal. In the case of WDW the reason for this is usually due to operational needs such as availability of rooms or overbooking. In the case of Universal this could mean to move guests from one resort to another one that is open. This is not meant to be mean-spirited however it could be necessary in the current climate.
Universal upgrades can be applied on any type of gear. Additionally, More inspiring ideas can be applied to a variety of items at a time. This makes them more versatile than other upgrade types. This can be a problem when upgrading items along a particular gear path. It can increase the item levels of all pieces on the path.
Before performing an upgrade, it's important to stop the PowerShell Universal service and delete the existing application files. After that you can install new files using the GetChildItemRecurse command or Unblock-File. To ensure that your PSU server is functioning properly, you should also perform an initial validation.
Jewels
Jewels are enhancements that can be inserted into weapons, armor and accessories. They give varying stat bonuses and other effects based on the gemstone and reagent used to create them. They can be found in Golden Chests, Rift Incursions, V Blood Carriers and other regular enemies, or can be purchased from a Master Craftsman in exchange for karma or gold. Jewels can also been made on a jewelry table with 1 gem and 5 of the same type of ingredients to create a jewel of greater or lesser tier; this process is the same as upgrading a gemstone using a gemcrafting table.
Jewel tiers are determined by the amount of modifiers they have which means that higher-tier jewels have more than lower-tier ones. The primary effect is determined by the jewel's tier, whereas the secondary effect is random. Players can make use of luck potions to increase their chances of receiving better secondary effects.
Jewels can be incorporated into items that have sockets that match similar to other upgrade components. For instance Garnet Pebble (gemstone) and an Adorned Garnet Jewel (jewel) both add strength, but the Garnet Pebble only increases the number of hits that are regular, while the Garnet Jewel also boosts the player's strength. Jewels can be put in all weapon, armor and accessory slots. They can also be used with exotic trinkets or lesser rarity trinkets that need the use of a slot.
Gems are a DM-specific mechanism that allows items to feel special to their owners. Jewels offer a variety upgrade options that let players customize and find the perfect combination for their needs. They can upgrade their gear with new gems in the event that they feel the existing set is no longer appropriate.
Requirements
WoW's item upgrades allow players to increase the item levels of equipment set pieces, weapons and trinkets over their current level of item from specific Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor sources. These upgrades improve the stats base of the item, and some even come with special effects (such as Dolphin's Grace which allows players to experience dolphin-like grace while they swim). These upgrades can be obtained by upgrading the item or by salvaging it. Different items drop different upgrade components.
The process of upgrading may be a bit difficult, but it is straightforward. The player chooses the item he wants to upgrade, and then clicks on the Upgrade button. A window will open showing the various upgrades that are available for that item. This window will display the upgrade level, the upgrade type bonus (such a Tech Points or a Quality Chance) and the cost of upgrading. The upgrade level will be displayed in a bar at the top of the screen and the bonus type for upgrades is shown below it.
If a player chooses to upgrade the item the item will be taken to the upgrader NPC who will explain the procedure for upgrading the item. The player is then required to provide the correct currency and, if necessary additional materials. The requirements for this are determined by the item's level. Weapons have more strict requirements opposed to armor.
Many upgrade recipes include a list of 'Acceptable Material' in addition to the necessary components. This list includes the other upgrade components that can be used to upgrade an item. It also has a flag that indicates whether or not it has an assured boost. It is crucial to know because the value of an upgraded item may differ significantly based on the 'extras' it has, with well roll gear worth more than those that are not upgraded.
For upgrades that require crests or valorstones, these will be listed in a separate listing below the main list. The number of crests and valorstones needed depends on the level of the item. Upgrades to weapons require the most Valorstones.
