The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding production facilities overseas, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. The company saw North America as a growth market for Washlet bidets and toilets, as opposed to its "base" markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto was documenting Toto words to ensure the next generation could read them. However, many words were replaced with foreign words, such as dui from Bengali for verandah.
Origins
Established in 1917, Toto's beginnings mirrored Japan's growth. In the early years of its existence, the company produced goods to meet demand for new, modern urban housing. 스포츠토토 had the first tunnel kiln in the nation to continuously produce ceramics. It also pioneered the use of automation to control production, allowing for more efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding its operations overseas in the latter part of the 1980s to take advantage of new markets and sales opportunities. It established the Cera Trading Company, importing and distributing other manufacturers' products to complement its own line of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy helped increase sales and increased the company's market share in the world.
In the 1990s, Toto had shifted its focus to research and development of water-related household appliances. It also upgraded its distribution system to better serve the needs of customers and to increase profits. The company adopted a just-in-time approach to managing its supply chain, and it used the same approach in its sales strategy. This resulted in a higher level of satisfaction with the customer.
Toto has continued to innovate in the toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for example, has a strong tornado flush that is more eco friendly than traditional toilets. Toto uses recycled water for its manufacturing process and has a green purchasing policy. Toto also manufactures faucets, bathtubs and hand dryers with higher energy efficiency than typical models.
The first Toto museum opened in 2015. It has exhibitions on Toto’s seminal products, their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made from ceramics) as well as the history of plumbing and even bath units. In another gallery, visitors can see Toto products that are sold across the world. The museum even has a bathroom that features the WASHLET toilet, as well as other toilet-related innovations.
Before the formation of Toto members of the group performed sessions with various musicians. Boz Scaggs' album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich and guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather and drummer Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also appeared on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name like Asia one would think that the group would be prog queens and kings but they're actually a fairly simple rock band. The band began as a four-piece and released two albums: 1979's self-titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. However, even though the group have a diverse musical background their biggest breakthrough was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a huge blockbuster, however it did not come without its share of issues. Record companies put the band on place with the directive "give us an album that is a success or we'll take you off the market" and the pressure was on to give it. Toto was able to achieve this through the aid of the smash hit "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is the result of their previous experience. Before joining the group, the band members worked as session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their sonic trademark has become the standard of the '80s, and has influenced many contemporary artists.
The album opens with a strong and pounding sound, with songs such as Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write fantastic AOR songs that slowly get their hooks into you. The album also includes some slow, jazzier tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations. This song blends folk and distorted AOR that could seem like a complete blunder, but is very effective.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes took a turn for the worse. David Hungate left the band to focus on his solo career, and the band had several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band following drug-related charges. The band remained with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation that was not as successful as IV. The band managed to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the conclusion of the original Toto lineup and was the first album to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.
Tours
The band has performed around the globe to an audience of millions, with sold-out shows in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia and New Zealand. The band's repertoire is huge and their catalogue has accumulated over a billion streams on streaming services worldwide. The band's music has influenced numerous generations of fans.
Steve Lukather and Joe Williams have formed a strong and vibrant friendship that flourishes professionally on a global scale. In 2018 the duo celebrated their 40th anniversary of Tours Around the Sun with a massively successful global tour. The album that bears the same name reached #5 on Billboard 200. The latest tour of the band features their most popular hits, rarely performed live deep-cuts and some songs from Lukather's and Williams individual catalogs.
TOTO has a customer satisfaction rating of 20 according to its Net Promoter Score, which is a measure of how likely customers are to recommend the brand. Promoters are people who give a positive score to the company and encourage others to use its products and services. Detractors are those who evaluate the company poorly and might even actively discourage others from using their services or products.

Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet style of previous albums and was a more powerful, consistent effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the development of the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity was reflected by the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on previous efforts.
After touring to promote their album, the band recorded an Amsterdam live show that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. A new studio album was released a few months later, and the group embarked on an extensive world tour in support of the album. In this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich & Lukather began looking through old tapes and demos to find songs that hadn't been recorded prior to. It was completed as a double album titled Then and Now in 2001. It was the first album by the band not to include a single song with the word "A" in its title and it included one previously not released track, "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure, and the vocalist Williams was suffering from a serious laryngitis condition that limited his singing abilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes and the other original members of Asia - Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened a meeting in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility of restructuring the band. The lineup, with the exception of Howe who was working with Yes at the time, became Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured the appearance of singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
