The discography of the American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, 4 live albums, and numerous compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.
Before Toto was formed the members of the group performed session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs album from 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in 1976.
The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their earlier albums and was criticized for its absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen left The band held auditions to find a replacement frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The band dug through old tapes and recordings to create the special record. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto began an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
