To explore the effects of COVID 19 on reproductive and child health services and gender relations.
This is a Qualitative Exploratory Research. Due to lockdown, setting was online interviews on Zoom. Sampling was purposive. Five in-depth interviews were conducted in June 2020 followed by compilation of results and manuscript writing in July and August 2020.
Maternal Neonatal morbidity and mortality will rise as part of collateral damage of C19. As all routine services of maternity care, family planning, post abortion care and vaccination were also in lockdown. Baby boom, unwanted pregnancies, unsafe abortions and violence against women will be the secondary consequences of C19.
Some critical services should never stop which include maternal and neonatal essential services. MNCH service continuity has to be maintained to optimize maternal neonatal health, prevent unwanted pregnancy and abortion. With appropriate standard operating procedures, and protective equipments, health facilities need to open. LHWs and community mobilisers with PPEs should continue services.

To evaluate the effect of sintilimab combined with chemotherapy on tumor markers and immune function in advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
The study was conducted at Xi'an Medical University, China. The 120 patients with advanced NSCLC who were treated in our hospital from January 2016 to January 2020 were randomly divided into two groups, with 60 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received conventional GP chemotherapy, while those in the experimental group received intravenous injection of sindilimab on the basis of conventional GP chemotherapy. The changes of serum tumor markers CYFRA211, CEA, CA125 and T lymphocyte subsets CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD4+/CD8+ in the two groups prior to and after treatment were compared and analyzed. At the same time, the clinical efficacy at six months was compared between the two groups.
The serum tumor markers CYFRA211, CEA and CA125 in the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (fference (p=0.01).
Compared with chemotherapy alone, significant therapeutic effects can be obtained in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer with sintilimab combined with chemotherapy. With this combination regimen, the level of serum tumor markers can be significantly reduced, the cellular immune function of patients can be improved, with the overall response rate of treatment increased, and the risk of progressive disease of patients reduced.

To determine Vitamin-D status in children with urinary tract infection.
A Cross-sectional study was done at Pediatric Department, Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad, from July 2019 to March 2020. A total of 172 children of either gender from 2 to 60 months of age with confirmed urinary tract infection (UTI) (having positive urine C/S report) were included in the study. The child who received antibiotics 48 hours prior or already on immunosuppressive drugs and steroids from previous health record or by taking clinically relevant history), children with CKD on vitamin-D supplementation, and known case of Vitamin-D deficiency were also excluded from the study. All study participants were evaluated for vitamin-D level by high performance liquid chromatography. Urine sample was collected for C/S and 1 cc venous blood was taken for Vitamin D status (ng/ml). The mean ± standard deviation (SD) and stratification was calculated for age, duration of urinary tract infection and vitamin-D level. Post stratification chi-square test was applied for all categorical variables at 95% confidence interval (CI) and P-value ≤0.05 was considered significant.
The average age of the patients was 41.51±18.34 months. There were 130 (75.58%) females and 40 (23.25%) males. Most common complaint of the children was fever 150 (87.21%). Vomiting was present in 31 (18.02%), abdominal pain 22 (12.79%) and dysuria in 15 (8.72%) children. A total of 129 (75%) children had pyelonephritis and 15 (25%) had cystitis. (Frequency of vitamin-D deficiency in children with diagnosed UTI was 45.93% (79/172). Mild vitamin D deficiency was present in 42 (53.16%) children, while moderate deficiency in 55 (69.62%) children.
was the most common pathogen in both mild and moderate vitamin D deficiency i.e., 20 (47.61) and 31 (56.36%) respectively.
The frequency of urinary tract infection is more common in children having vitamin D deficiency.

To investigate the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) combined with escitalopram in patients with depression and its effect on cognitive function.
From 2016 to 2018, seventy patients with depression aged 18-65 years treated in Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University were selected. Seventy patients with depression meeting the diagnostic criteria of ICD-10 were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group using a random number table, with 35 patients in each group. The control group was treated with escitalopram, while the observation group was additionally treated with HBO on this basis. The patients were assessed using the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale (MoCA) before treatment and two, four and six weeks after treatment.
Two weeks after treatment, HAMD score showed a statistically significant difference between the two groups (
< 0.05). No statistically significant differences were found in HAMD score between the two groups four and six weeks after treatment (
> 0.05). Four and six weeks after treatment, MoCA score presented statistically significant differences between the two groups (
< 0.05).
Escitalopram combined with HBO in the treatment of depression presents rapid efficacy and a certain effect in improving cognitive function.

To explore experiences of medical residents about stages and nature of transitional journey from induction into residency program to achievement of consultant title.
Qualitative phenomenological study was conducted at Sir Gangaram hospital and Fatima Memorial Hospital, Lahore for six months from Feb 2019-July 2019 after IRB/ERC approval from Islamic International Medical College (Ref# Riphah/IIMC/ERC/19/0320). Using purposive criterion sampling, 16 semi-structured interviews in four departments, four strata of junior residents, senior residents, newly-qualified consultants, and supervising consultants with four participants each were conducted till theoretical saturation of data was achieved. After informed consent, audio recorded data was transcribed verbatim & analyzed through Atlas.ti 7 using Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis. After Bracketing and horizontalization, data was coded line by line. Codes (324) were merged to categories (19) for structural and textural description. Composite description of phenomenon was done by abstraction of themes (eight for stages and two for nature of journey).
Eight themes for stages as merriment, anguish, melancholy, acceptance and efforts, intensive learning, burnishing to shine, identity formation and intra-stage oscillations were identified. Two themes for journey's nature were exponential learning & oscillating journey.
The transitional journey is a multi-stage complex, oscillating journey. An oscillating electron model is presented upon the findings of this study to explain resident transition.

The study aimed to investigate the effect of Ramadan Fasting on Patients with Chronic Diseases and their experience during fasting.
This study was a descriptive research that used a researcher-designed questionnaire in face-to-face interviews with individuals who have at least one chronic disease and visit, for any reason, the Istanbul Sisli Etfal Training and Research Hospital polyclinics. We first asked each participant about fasting during Ramadan. If the participant was not fasting, we asked only the reason(s) and collected socio-demographic data. If a participant was fasting, we administered a researcher-designed questionnaire in face-to-face interviews. Our survey consisted of 19 questions that were designed to evaluate the fasting behaviors, current chronic disease and treatment status of individuals, encountered complications during fasting and their socio-demographic data.
The study participants were 253 people (168 females [66.4%]; mean age 58.06 ± 11,13) with non-infectious diseases. One hundred sixty (63.2%) participants were fasting during Ramadan and 33 of them (20.6%) had consulted a doctor before fasting, 62.5% (n = 100) said they never faced any symptoms during fasting. Most experienced symptom during fasting was fatigue (56.7%; n = 34). A significant relationship occurred between experiencing symptoms while fasting and gender (p = 0.023) and waking regularly for
(p = 0.029).
Many people with chronic diseases fast and experience symptoms while fasting. Being woman and not waking up for sahur was related with the symptoms during Ramadan fasting. Most participants with NIDs fasted during Ramadan without consulting their doctors.
