This study also presents an analysis of the results of noise measurements carried out on exemplary 1st generation FSO units. This study analyzed national health data to assess convalescent hospital use among female cancer survivors according to age group. This retrospective study collected data from women recovering from breast, colon, and stomach cancer, based on health insurance claim data over 5 years (2013-2017), from the Korea Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (KHIRA). Interestingly, the number of young and older women who were treated in convalescent hospitals increased every year. In addition, total medical expenses increased in both groups. 6-OHDA manufacturer The annual rate of convalescent hospitalization was higher in older women (8.29~16.39%) than in younger women (4.01~7.46%). The total yearly medical expenses of cancer survivors in convalescent hospitals increased in both age groups and all cancer types, and the range of increase rate was from 7.7% in young breast cancer survivors to 32.2% in young colon cancer survivors. Visit days and days of medication increased noticeably in young colon cancer survivors. Taken together, these data have confirmed the importance of developing standard guidelines for inpatient management in convalescent hospitals and the health management of women cancer survivors by cancer type. This includes establishing a health management system and medical policies. This work analyses the influence of fine concrete fractions ( less then 5 mm) of different natures -calcareous (HcG) and siliceous (HsT)-obtained from construction and demolition waste (C&DW) on the behaviour of blended cement pastes with partial replacements between 5 and 10%. The two C&DW fractions were characterised by different instrumental techniques. Subsequently, their lime-fixing capacity and the physico-mechanical properties of the blended cement pastes were analysed. Lastly, the environmental benefits of reusing these fine wastes in the manufacture of future eco-efficient cement pastes were examined. The results show that HsT and HcG exhibit weak pozzolanic activity, owing to their low reactive silica and alumina content. Despite this, the new cement pastes meet the physical and mechanical requirements of the existing regulations for common cements. It should be highlighted that the blended cement pastes initially showed a coarser pore network, but then they underwent a refinement process between 2 and 28 days, along with a gain in compressive strength, possibly due to the double pozzolanic and filler effect of the wastes. The environmental viability of the blended cements was evaluated in a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) concluding that the overall environmental impact could be reduced in the same proportion of the replacement rate. This is in line with the Circular Economy goals and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The capillary action between two solid surfaces has drawn significant attention in micro-objects manipulation. The axisymmetric capillary bridges and capillary forces between a spherical concave gripper and a spherical particle are investigated in the present study. A numerical procedure based on a shooting method, which consists of double iterative loops, was employed to obtain the capillary bridge profile and bring the capillary force subject to a constant volume condition. Capillary bridge rupture was characterized using the parameters of the neck radius, pressure difference, half-filling angle, and capillary force. The effects of various parameters, such as the contact angle of the spherical concave gripper, the radius ratio, and the liquid bridge volume on the dimensionless capillary force, are discussed. The results show that the radius ratio has a significant influence on the dimensionless capillary force for the dimensionless liquid bridge volumes of 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1 when the radius ratio value is smaller than 10. The effectiveness of the theorical approach was verified using simulation model and experiments.Resveratrol dimers have been extensively reported on due to their antioxidative activity. Previous studies revealed that resveratrol dimer has been shown to selectively quench singlet oxygen (1O2), and could protect DNA from oxidative damage. The mechanism of resveratrol dimers protecting DNA against oxidative damage is still not clear. Therefore, in this project, the reactants and products of resveratrol dimers protecting guanine from oxidative damage were qualitatively monitored and quantitatively analyzed by UHPLC-QTOF-MS2 and UHPLC-QQQ-MS2. Results showed that when guanine and resveratrol dimers were attacked by 1O2, mostly resveratrol dimers were oxidized, which protected guanine from oxidation. Resveratrol dimers' oxidation products were identified and quantified at m/z 467.1134 [M-H]- and 467.1118 [M-H]-, respectively. The resorcinol of resveratrol dimers reacted with singlet oxygen to produce p-benzoquinone, protecting guanine from 1O2 damage. Therefore, it is hereby reported for the first time that the resorcinol ring is the characteristic structure in stilbenes inhibiting 1O2 induced-DNA damage, which provides a theoretical basis for preventing and treating DNA damage-mediated diseases.Plants in the family Lemnaceae are aquatic monocots and the smallest, simplest, and fastest growing angiosperms. Their small size, the smallest family member is 0.5 mm and the largest is 2.0 cm, as well as their diverse morphologies make these plants ideal for laboratory studies. Their rapid growth rate is partially due to the family's neotenous lifestyle, where instead of maturing and producing flowers, the plants remain in a juvenile state and continuously bud asexually. Maturation and flowering in the wild are rare in most family members. To promote further research on these unique plants, we have optimized laboratory flowering protocols for 3 of the 5 genera Spirodela; Lemna; and Wolffia in the Lemnaceae. Duckweeds were widely used in the past for research on flowering, hormone and amino acid biosynthesis, the photosynthetic apparatus, and phytoremediation due to their aqueous lifestyle and ease of aseptic culture. There is a recent renaissance in interest in growing these plants as non-lignified biomass sources for fuel production, and as a resource-efficient complete protein source.
