Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) has been a huge threat for people's health and finding effective target therapy is urgent and important. WWP2, as one of E3 ubiquitin ligase, is involved in many biological processes by specifically binding to substrates. PARP1 plays a role in cell apoptosis and is considered as a therapeutic target of certain cancers. In this study, we firstly found that WWP2 expressed higher in newly diagnosed ALL patients comparing with complete remission (CR) ALL patients and normal control people, and WWP2 in relapse ALL patients expressed higher than normal control people. WWP2 expression was related with the FAB subtype of ALL and the proportion of blast cells in bone marrow blood tested by flow cytometry. We demonstrated knockout WWP2 inhibited the ALL growth and enhanced apoptosis induced by Dox in vitro and vivo for the first time. OTUB2-IN-1 compound library inhibitor WWP2 negatively regulated and interacted with PARP1 and WWP2 mechanically degraded PARP1 through polyubiquitin-proteasome pathway in ALL. These findings suggested WWP2 played a role in ALL development as well as growth and apoptosis, and also displayed a regulatory pathway of PARP1, which provided a new potential therapeutic target for the treatment of ALL.
Ratoon rice cropping has been introduced for increased rice production in southern China and, as a result, has been becoming increasingly popular. However, only a few studies have addressed the regulatory mechanism underlying grain quality improvement induced by rice ratooning.
In this study, parameters of rice quality, including head rice yield, chalky grain percentage, grain chalkiness degree, hardness and taste value, were shown to be much improved in the ratooning season rice as compared to its counterparts main and late cropping season rice, indicating that such an improvement was irrespective of seasonal effects. In addition, the nutritional components of grains varied greatly between main-cropping season rice, ratooning season rice and late-cropping season rice and displayed a significant correlation with rice quality. Finally, the regulatory mechanism underlying rice quality improvement revealed that gibberellin-dominated regulation and plant hormone signal transduction jointly contributed to a decrease in formation of chalky grains.

To explore the effects of disability, depressive, anxiety and stress symptoms on patients' and their partners' quality of life (QoL) using the actor-partner interdependence model (APIM).
A cross-sectional study using actor-partner interdependence model.
We recruited 183 dyads of stroke survivors and their family caregivers in Indonesia. The World Health Organization Disability Assessment (WHODAS 2.0), Depression, Anxiety and Stress (DASS-42) and Rand Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) were used to measure disability, depressive, anxiety and stress symptoms and QoL of stroke survivors and family caregivers. The actor-partner interdependence model was tested using multilevel modelling. The actor-partner interdependence mediation model (APIMeM) was applied to estimate the direct and indirect effect.
Disability had actor effects on stroke survivor's overall QoL and partner effect on family caregiver's overall QoL. More severe disability of stroke survivors was associated with a lower overall QoL of their ow and their family caregivers.
Dyadic actor-partner interdependence models have shown promising potential to predict the QoL among patients and family caregivers. The dyadic effects of disability, depression, anxiety and stress symptoms on the QoL of stroke survivors and family caregivers can be applied to guide the future development of nursing intervention addressed decreasing depression, anxiety and stress symptoms to optimize health outcomes among stroke survivors and their family caregivers.Alzheimer's disease (AD) is currently diagnosed using a mixture of psychological tests and clinical observations. However, these diagnoses are not perfect, and additional diagnostic tools (e.g., MRI) can help improve our understanding of AD as well as our ability to detect the disease. Accordingly, a large amount of research has been invested into innovative diagnostic methods for AD. Functional MRI (fMRI) is a form of neuroimaging technology that has been used to diagnose AD; however, fMRI is incredibly noisy, complex, and thus lacks clinical use. Nonetheless, recent innovations in deep learning technology could enable the simplified and streamlined analysis of fMRI. Deep learning is a form of artificial intelligence that uses computer algorithms based on human neural networks to solve complex problems. For example, in fMRI research, deep learning models can automatically denoise images and classify AD by detecting patterns in participants' brain scans. In this systematic review, we investigate how fMRI (specifically resting-state fMRI) and deep learning methods are used to diagnose AD. In turn, we outline the common deep neural network, preprocessing, and classification methods used in the literature. We also discuss the accuracy, strengths, limitations, and future direction of fMRI deep learning methods. In turn, we aim to summarize the current field for new researchers, suggest specific areas for future research, and highlight the potential of fMRI to aid AD diagnoses.
The aim of this cross-sectional study was to find factors associated with problems with the ability to eat and speak in oral and pharyngeal cancer (OPC) survivors and to evaluate if the panorama of oral problems varied with time since diagnosis.
A questionnaire assessing cancer diagnosis and treatment, oral health-related quality of life, and presence of treatment-related side-effects was sent to members of the Norwegian Head and Neck Cancer Association. Three-quarters (n=117) of the respondents experienced xerostomia, and 51% (n=79) had dysphagia. Prevalence of dysphagia, trismus, and dysphonia was lowest among respondents diagnosed within the last 5-10 years prior to the study. Eating problems were reported by 75% (n=121) of the OPC survivors and were associated with xerostomia, dysphagia, trismus, having removed part of the tongue, cancer diagnosis within 5 years prior to the study and having little problems with caries and tooth fracture. Speaking problems were experienced by 60% (n=93) of the OPC survivors, and were associated with dysphonia, dysphagia, and trismus.
Our study shows a high prevalence of oral problems among OPC survivors and points to targets for interventions for eating and speech impairments that may improve oral health-related quality of life.

This descriptive study was conducted to determine the awareness of nurses working in intensive care units about the daily patient checklist.
Checklists are used in the daily follow-up and evaluation of patients admitted to the intensive care unit.
The research was carried out with 180 nurses through the social media account of the Turkish Intensive Care Specialists Association Nurse Commission between July 2021 and March 2022. Data were collected with a descriptive information form and intensive care unit daily patient checklist. Necessary permissions were obtained before the study.
Among nurses, 45.0% of them got 15 full points from the Checklist. Moreover, 81.1% of the nurses stated that they knew that a checklist should be used to help eliminate the deficiencies of daily care and treatment in the intensive care unit, while 66.7% stated that they used a checklist. It was determined that nurses knew the most about parameters 'Check the daily infection parameters', 'Glycaemic control', 'Therapy', and the least about parameters 'Thromboprophylaxis', 'Ulcer prevention', 'Hypo-hyper delirium' and 'Use a daily checklist'.
It was determined that the level of awareness of intensive care unit nurses about some parameters that should be followed daily for patient care was low.
Checklists can be used as a guide for health care professionals in the routine daily evaluation of intensive care unit patients. It is thought that these reminder abbreviations will provide efficiency in preventing the disruption of applications, reducing medical errors, reducing mortality and morbidity, and cost.

Efficient non-covalently linked Fe(III) heme-peptide complexes may represent suitable alternatives as a new group of green catalysts. Here, we evaluated a set of heme-peptide complexes by determination of their peroxidase-like activity and the kinetics of the catalytic conversion in both, the soluble and the immobilized state. We show the impact of peptide length on binding of the peptides to Fe(III) heme and the catalytic activity. Immobilization of the peptide onto a polymer support maintains the catalytic performance of the Fe(III) heme-peptide complex. This study thus opens up a new perspective with regard to the development of heterogeneous biocatalysts with a peroxidase-like activity.The pH-low insertion peptides (pHLIP) are pH-dependent membrane inserting peptides, whose function depends on the cell microenvironment acidity. Several peptide variants have been designed to improve upon the wt-sequence, particularly the state transition kinetics and the selectivity for tumor pH. The variant 3 (Var3) peptide is a 27 residue long peptide, with a key titrating residue (Asp-13) that, despite showing a modest performance in liposomes (pKins ∼ 5.0), excelled in tumor cell experiments. To help rationalize these results, we focused on the pH gradient in the cell membrane, which is one of the crucial properties that are not present in liposomes. We extended our CpHMD-L method and its pH replica-exchange (pHRE) implementation to include a pH gradient and mimic the pHLIP-membrane microenvironment in a cell where the internal pH is fixed (pH 7.2) and the external pH is allowed to change. We showed that, by properly modeling the pH-gradient, we can correctly predict the experimentally observed loss and gain of performance in tumor cells experiments by the wt and Var3 sequences, respectively. In sum, the pH gradient implementation allowed for more accurate and realistic pKa estimations and was a pivotal step in bridging the in silico data and the in vivo cell experiments.Finger position sense is a proprioceptive modality highly important for fine motor control. Its developmental time course is largely unknown. This cross-sectional study examined its typical development in 138 children (8-17 years) and a group of 14 healthy young adults using a fast and novel psychophysical test that yielded objective measures of position sense acuity. Participants placed their hands underneath a computer tablet and judged the perceived position of their unseen index finger relative to two visible areas displayed on a tablet following a two-forced-choice paradigm. Responses were fitted to a psychometric acuity function from which the difference between the point-of-subjective-equality and the veridical finger position (ΔPSE) was derived as a measure of position sense bias, and the uncertainty area (UA) as a measure of precision. The main results are First, children under 12 exhibited a significantly greater UA than adults while adolescent children (13-17 years) exhibited no significant differences when compared to adults.
