Armor

Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped out with another jewel of the same type without damaging it. However you can only swap out a jewel in an item of equipment once.
Utilizing more jewels in a move will make it more smooth and is typically used for aesthetic reasons. The jewels also improve performance and make a harder surface than metal so that repeated friction from pivots does not damage them.
