He was brought before the Warlord, sat at a table, and handed a revolver along with a single bullet in the concept. The Warlord puts the revolver to his head, pulls the trigger, nothing. Often unwilling to lose on the money the Warlord brings him back the following day, adds two bullets thinking the guy might change his mind, again he pulls the trigger certainly nothing.
(1) Kudos to David Fincher to bring what was basically an MBA case study and making it a very entertaining film. The movie is riveting, and I never once looked at my watch.
Since Benny is really ball player on the lot, he takes Smalls under his wing and teaches him the rudiments. The gang decides that Smalls is okay after all, and their summer of adventures sets out. The main focus of the boys is baseball, and secondary focus is dreaming about Wendy Peffercorn, the local lifeguard and frequent visitor in their daydreams. After one on the guys pulls off a complex hoax in an effort to steal a kiss from Wendy, the boys lose their pool privileges for your summer.
